Cedar grade is a long 2% grade on an S-curve on the Woodshire RR. This video (1 min 47 sec) was produced soon after the layout was built in order to document the first ascent of the grade with a long consist.
On the point is BNSF #808 with a red warbonnet livery (a GE Dash 8) followed by #809 (another red warbonnet Dash 8, unpowered). The final head unit is Santa Fe #144 (an EMD GP60M, unpowered).
In the middle of the consist, Santa Fe #2372 (a red warbonnet EMD GP38-2) adds tractive power, followed by two unpowered units: Susie-Q #3614 (EMD SD45) and Chicago Northwest #8738 (GE Dash-9)
Two yellow warbonnet Santa Fe’s power the rear: #350 (Alco C628) and #2452 (EMD GP30)
